fiiiii-yaaahhh

we took a trip to my MBFF's (Male Best Friend Forever) fire station today as a spring break field trip.

i am always on the look out for no cost activities, sure, the park is always a hit, but we needed some change of scenery. so we hopped in the car, and headed to richmond where we were treated to a personalized tour of the fire station and engines.  we opened every door to every compartment, tried on the super heavy fire gear, and even slid down the pole.  yes! the pole.  this station has the old school pole to get from the sleeping quarters to the engine lickety-split!  aidan went down, of course! but tyler and i just looked on in awe - looked a little too tall from our view!

 

we took a quick drive around the block, blared the siren and talked over the radio (we made pretty good rookie firefighters i'd say).  at one point aidan even took a relaxing seat on the lazy-boy lounger and really got into firefighter mode.

such a fun day! maybe one day these handsomes will be real firefighters hanging on their engine.
