3, 2, 1, Blast Off! (almost)

We've been meaning to try out this Mento Rocket contraption we've had for a while. Yesterday was the day! We bought a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi and had a go of it. The boys were filled with anticipation. We had no idea what to expect accept that there was a rocket so that meant there would be something flying into the air, right?

We set up the soda pop mento rocket and prepared for take off. 3,2,1....dud! Something didn't work right. The soda exploded but the rocket fell off. Hmm, back to the drawing board.

We decided to try again, we bought more Mentos, another 2-liter and gave it another try.

3,2,1...dud again! The rocket is defective, that must be it!

Han decided to have Aidan hold the bottle and dropped the Mentos inside, there was finally some lift off! It looked like a soda geyser!

Pretty cool! Despite the rocket part being a dud, the kids had fun, that's what counts.
