Jungle Fun

In an effort to find things to occupy my boys for looong periods of time we decided to take a visit to the Jungle. I had received a coupon for $1 admission so that made it even more exciting! I called up Anna and Gene, packed the kids in the car and we were off! This place is cool! There is a HUGE mouse like maze in the middle of the building with slides and tunnels and turns every which way. The adventurous can really get crazy, at one point I had to go up and try and rescue Tyler. Let's just say he's not that adventurous. There is a game room and a ride section as well. Think Chuck E. Cheese but cleaner and less video games - perfect! Not to mention that the pizza I ordered wasn't half bad, beats C.E.C by a landslide! Us parents sat in the cafe which is in the middle of the place while the kids went wild (get it, we were at the jungle...haha). There is no way for the kids to get out or get lost. This is contained fun for young and old!

Hey, look at these handsome monkeys!

Baby Charlie grubbin' on carbs, a girl after my own heart...

Maybe this is why Baby Kylee doesn't like Han!

Tyler playing with Charlie, he's a babies man...Afterwards Anna and I had to make a stop to our friend "Nordstrom Rack" coincidentally it was right next door! AND we promised a yummy treat to the kiddos if they behaved. Ibby was the only one who was rewarded...just kidding, just didn't have any other pics!

Makena was there too, but I didn't get any snaps of her either :(

3, 2, 1, Blast Off! (almost)

We've been meaning to try out this Mento Rocket contraption we've had for a while. Yesterday was the day! We bought a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi and had a go of it. The boys were filled with anticipation. We had no idea what to expect accept that there was a rocket so that meant there would be something flying into the air, right?
We set up the soda pop mento rocket and prepared for take off. 3,2,1....dud! Something didn't work right. The soda exploded but the rocket fell off. Hmm, back to the drawing board.

We decided to try again, we bought more Mentos, another 2-liter and gave it another try.

3,2,1...dud again! The rocket is defective, that must be it!

Han decided to have Aidan hold the bottle and dropped the Mentos inside, there was finally some lift off! It looked like a soda geyser!

Pretty cool! Despite the rocket part being a dud, the kids had fun, that's what counts.

La Costa

We LOVE La Costa! We've just returned from our annual tradition of spending the 4Th of July at La Costa. The boys had a wonderful time as usual. What's not to love - sun, pool, family, friends and a fabulous hotel!
I love how this picture looks like Aidan is walking on water!

Splash Time!

And if you need me, this is where you'll find me...

We spent each day at the pool where the boys played and played and played some more. The boys got so tan because they lived in the pool. One night we made s'mores at one of the pools where the boys got to enjoy some ooey gooey goodness!

On the 4th the resort put on a fabulous fireworks show which we watched from the golf course on a blanket. So much better than in the past when we've had to fight for chairs at the pool.

The best thing about this vacation was spending time with family and friends. The Murio, Abisia, and Reynoso Families were also there to enjoy the holiday with us. We can't wait to go back!

Austin, Tyler, Justin and Aidan - when not in the pool- this is what you'll find them doing - DS, Pokemon to be more exact!

California Academy of Sciences

We took a trip to the new Cal Academy of Sciences today. What a fun place! We had heard that lines could be long but thankfully we got right in. There are tons of things to do and see. I think we all enjoyed walking through the rain forest best! There were butterflies everywhere and Tyler even reached out and grabbed one in mid air. We quickly urged him to let it go of course!

Tyler was entranced with the Aquarium

This was inside the rain forest, I think they were looking at the creatures that live there

Right before he snatched a butterfly out of the air

Of course if there is a place for my boys to be silly they will find it!

A's Game

We took in an A's game on Friday night with the Murios. It was so fun! My Auntie had a special deal through her work where we got an all you can eat BBQ dinner, our entrance to the game and the fireworks show - WOW! The boys had such a great time eating cotton candy, churros, ice cream and more. This was the first baseball game for both and they really enjoyed themselves for the entire 9 innings! The fireworks show was amazing. We were ushered down to the field where we sat on the green and watched the fireworks while the old school tunes played in the background. I think we all would agree it was a great night out!

Do you see the green cotton candy? Tyler made me walk around the entire stadium looking for this, wouldn't you know as soon as I left to get it - the concession guy came to our section!Justin, Aidan, and Tyler - 3 musketeers
I love those smiles

These fireworks were beautiful!

And it's off!

The boys chopped off all their hair! Well, they didn't chop it, their fabulous stylist Marcia did the cutting. She actually cut it too, carefully, precisely, with such precision. Aidan didn't care too much about the style, mostly wanted it to be short and spiky. Tyler on the other hand had very specific requests - it needed to be a Mohawk. We went with a Fauxhawk, which is much cuter and more stylish I think. They were almost unrecognizable except for their extreme handsomeness, that hasn't changed a bit!

When I look at this long hair, I miss it...

I don't know what's up with that face, but this new do is so much easier, and he's so happy to not be mistaken for a girl! That only happened because he is so darn pretty!
There's the boy of many faces...

My Mohawk boy! He loves to make the hair stick up, he's forever pulling it up with his hands.

Endless Summer Fun

Our summer vacation is in full swing, and according to Tyler if it's a summer day then we should be swimming! We took a trip to San Ramon to visit with the McDonalds and the Kwons and use their "almost" private pool. Aidan and Tyler and my adopted son Justin had a great day. I think out of the 5 hours we spent there they were out of the water a total of 30 minutes. By the end of the day they were tan, hungry and TIRED! It was another perfect summer day.
